Meth?

I am a preschool education major, for one of my classes i'm required to summarize some of the rules about developmentally appropriate practices for preschool children and preschool classrooms. I was summarizing what would be an inappropriate practice for math in preschool and I meant to say "Teachers incorporate math into everyday activities...." Instead I wrote:

"Teachers Incorporate meth into everyday activities....."

I'm happy to say that my teacher still gave me full points because she agreed with me, teachers incorporating meth into children's everyday activities would indeed be inappropriate!

Well i've had a goal to lose 10 pounds before St. George. Well St. George is only 3 weeks away and i've still got 5 pounds to go. It is still possible, but it's going to be hard. I'm going to have to be very strict!

Oh i'd also like to throw a shout out to the Cardston boys basketball team, great work at provincials guys! I wish more than anything that I could have been there! I missed a piece of history this weekend..

The Final Countdown

nanana na nanananana nana na nananananana na It's the final countdown!!

The final countdown to what you may be asking... possibly the end of the world?.. couldn't be because that clearly isn't until December 21, 2012..

As some of you know my family goes to St. George every year at easter. Going to St. George is one of my favourite things in the whole wide world. You could liken it small child on christmas morning, or when you found out that Madonna had yet another comeback and came out with a new song (fist pump for Madonna...)

These past couple years, however, I have been put in quite the depressing predicament. My spring break at university does not line up with my families. I mean, C'mon Pres. C. why do you do this to me, am I right? For the past 2 years I have not been able to spend the glorious week I would normally spend, instead I have  been sentenced to a mere weekend of pure joy. This is hardly satisfactory. Now, as I sat stewing over this major dilemma as a drove home from St. George last year, listening to "There She Goes" (track 3 on the Parent Trap soundtrack) while staring out the window as the rays of the sun are met cruelly by the harsh snow, an idea came to me. I decided to check the school calendar to see when my spring break would be the next year, and sure enough, it lined up perfectly! Oh joyous day!

Now, i'm sure your wondering where exactly I'm going with this very long story. Well people, it is the final countdown. I have only two more months to get my body into prime swim suit condition. Now, my body is as far from swim suit condition as it's ever been. Let's just say somehow I have stumbled off the tracks and gained a lot of weight. This is something i've had a really hard time with, I really feel like I just gave up on myself. I have decided that going to St. George is the perfect incentive to get my butt into gear!

Now I realize that losing all of the weight that I would like to lose is physically not possible to do by the time St. George rolls around. But I would at least like to lose as much weight as possible. Now obviously I need to have a more specific goal, that magic number in my head is 25 pounds. I would like to lose 25 pounds. It used to be 35 pounds, but I have successfully lost 10 pounds so far.

I am the type of girl who absolutely LOVES FOOD!!! I am a social eater, I eat when others eat, I eat if there's food in front of me, I eat if i'm bored, I am a complete muncher. I am going to have to set some very strict guidelines. So here they are:

1. No pop, juice, or sugary beverage.
2. I will allow myself one "treat" a day, now knowing myself after i've scarfed down a whole bag of salt and vinegar chips i'll make the excuse that that was my treat for the day.. that whole bag of chips was my treat for the day.... Now, only one serving size of my "treat" of choice.
3. No eating after 7:00 pm.
4. drink 8 cups of water a day
5. exercise daily
6. stretch for at least 15 minutes daily.

These are just a few that i'm going to attempt this week. I'll make the proper adjustments and add to the list next week.

If I can lose 10 pounds by St. George time then I get to buy a new SWIMSUIT!!! 10 pounds is completely reasonable, and there's no reason why I can't do this. I know that none of my 13 followers care much for reading about my weight loss, but I just had to put it on my blog to make me more accountable. If anybody has any tips for me please let me know!!

Sick

I hate being sick
I'm sick of being sick.
You know how sometimes
your like, man, I just wish
I could be sick so I could
stay home and sleep, and
watch TV, and eat ice
cream. And then when
you do get sick it's
only a matter of hours before
you were wishing you weren't sick?
I'm sick of being sick.
